Then, attach the other wire to the positive terminal and then to the resistor. If one of the wires from the LED light goes to the negative terminal of the battery, attach a resistor to it. Color are matching too: white/black (ground) and white/green (from all dash bulbs). There are a few ways to dim LED lights without a dimmer. I'm glad I stuck with the old lenses as I feel the direct red LED light would be too modern looking for my taste. I know the night photos does not do this any justice but the cluster is about double In brightness from before but not too bright. My speedometer was shot and wasn't accurate at all and having a Turbo I was able to source a 140mph speedo from an old Bavaria e3 from a very nice member on here.Īnd here is the finished product at night. Then I used reflective duct tape to close up all the dark space behind the cluster to make sure no light escapes and get as much light to the lenses, the lenses were attached back with some glue and 3m tape. Īfter removing the Cluster The red lenses weren't in bad shape at all, they were a little brittle so I washed them in hot water and the got softer and much clearer. Here you can see the difference in brightness as I wanted to compare the light from the old bulbs to the new LED's. You can see the difference in the picture of the two different style bulbs. So I sent them back and ordered bright white dome style LED's that illuminate in all directions more like a incandescent bulb. These are not legal in many states because the vehicles headlight housings are. Also post a link to the LEDs you bought if it's not too much trouble. So the RED LED's that I ordered originally won't work well for me because as you can see from the picture the red LED's point in the wrong direction when the light bulb is fitted in the bracket. There are a lot of people installing aftermarket LED bulbs in their headlights.
